How to add a scrolling logo carousel to your website

Need the logos on a slide or PDF instead? Make one static image of all the logos.

Step by step

  1. Add the logos. Transparent PNG or SVG works best. Clear white boxes with the Background Remover; if a browser refuses an SVG, use the SVG to PNG converter.
  2. Name them. Check each alt text reads as the company name; links are optional.
  3. Tune and export. Set height, gap and speed, check the phone preview, then upload the ZIP’s images and paste the code.

Where to paste the code

Images export at 2× display height to stay sharp on high-density screens (see header logo sizes and the 2× export rule). For a dark band, make light versions with the dark mode logo converter.

Frequently asked questions

Does this logo carousel need JavaScript?

No. A CSS keyframe animation slides two copies of the same list, so it works with scripts blocked and loads no library or widget.

Is a scrolling logo carousel accessible?

Yes, if visitors can pause it, as WCAG 2.2.2 requires for motion that starts on its own and lasts over five seconds. The code adds a pause button, pauses on hover or link focus, hides the copies from screen readers and stops for reduced motion.

Why are some logos shorter than the height I set?

Balancing gives logos a similar area, not one height, so a long wordmark does not dwarf an icon. At 100%, a 4:1 wordmark is half as tall and twice as wide as a square logo.

When should I use the single-file version?

Only when you cannot host images, such as an embed inside a frame. Base64 adds a third, each logo is embedded twice and nothing is cached; the tool warns above 150 KB.

Want the whole homepage to win clients, not just the logo row?

A row of logos shows who you work with; the rest of the page has to explain what you do and ask for the call. Webteqno designs small business websites at a flat price, launched in 2–3 weeks.

Accessibility rules for moving logos

Motion distracts some visitors and makes links hard to click. The generated code covers these WCAG 2.2 criteria.

WCAG 2.2 criterionLevelRequirementIn the code
1.1.1 Non-text ContentAMeaningful images need a text alternative.Alt text on every logo; copies are aria-hidden.
2.2.2 Pause, Stop, HideAAuto-starting motion over 5 seconds, shown beside other content, can be paused, stopped or hidden.Pause button; hover or a focused link also pauses.
2.4.3 Focus OrderAFocus moves in a meaningful order.Copied links get tabindex="-1".
2.4.7 Focus VisibleAAKeyboard focus is visible.Focused links get an outline.
2.3.3 Animation from InteractionsAAATechnique C39: honor prefers-reduced-motion.The row stops and scrolls by hand.

Why the loop never jumps

Short sets repeat until each list is 1,920 px wide, so gaps stay exact on wide screens. Each list moves by its width plus one gap, so the copy lands where the original began. Speed is the set width, one gap per logo, over the seconds per loop: 12 logos averaging 110 px with 56 px gaps make a 1,992 px set, about 66 px per second at 30 s.

Hosted files or a single file

Hosted images are cached and served as WebP with a PNG fallback. Base64 turns 3 bytes into 4 characters, so twenty 4 KB logos, each embedded twice, become about 213 KB of page text instead of 80 KB of files.
