What this tool handles

Removes metadata elements, XML comments and non-stylesheet processing instructions.
Removes known Inkscape, Sodipodi, RDF, Dublin Core, XMP and C2PA namespace information.
Preserves paths, fills, gradients, IDs, styles, accessible title/description and embedded raster data.
Rejects scripts, event handlers, foreignObject, external links/resources and document types/entities. Export a plain self-contained SVG first.
This is not a general SVG sanitizer. Embedded raster metadata and artwork text are outside its cleaning scope.

How to use SVG Metadata Remover

Select supported files and choose Scan files.
Review each file’s findings, previews and limitations. Metadata previews can contain private information.
Choose Clean scanned files. Each successful output is re-scanned before a download becomes available.
Download individual copies or a ZIP of successful results. Files with errors are excluded; keep the originals.

Questions and limitations

Does this optimize or simplify SVG paths?

No. The tool does not simplify paths, merge shapes, change IDs or rasterize the artwork. XML serialization may change formatting without changing supported artwork.

Why did my SVG get rejected?

Active content, external resources, entities or complex unsupported structures can make safe processing unreliable. Export a plain self-contained SVG from your editor and try again.

Is my file uploaded or used to train an AI?

No file upload takes place. The tool runs locally and does not use an AI model. Standard website Analytics records page visits and fixed tool-action categories, not your filenames or file content.
