What this tool handles
Removes standard Info entries such as author, title, subject, creator, producer, dates and custom document properties.
Removes supported XMP metadata streams and verifies they no longer appear in the output scan.
Preserves page content, interactive forms, annotations and attachments; their own information is not scrubbed.
Signed/signature-field PDFs, encrypted PDFs and detected C2PA provenance attachments are refused.
This is not redaction, content sanitization or anonymization. Visible author names, embedded image metadata, attachments and document identifiers can remain.
How to use PDF AI Metadata Remover
Select supported files and choose Scan files.
Review each file’s findings, previews and limitations. Metadata previews can contain private information.
Choose Clean scanned files. Each successful output is re-scanned before a download becomes available.
Download individual copies or a ZIP of successful results. Files with errors are excluded; keep the originals.
Questions and limitations
Why is a signed PDF refused?
Rewriting a signed PDF can invalidate its digital signature. Use an unsigned source document if you have permission to create a metadata-cleaned copy.
Will it remove an author name printed on a page?
No. It removes document properties and supported XMP, not visible text. Use a proper redaction workflow for sensitive page content.
Are form values removed?
No. Forms, values and annotations are preserved. They may contain personal information, so review them separately.
Is my file uploaded or used to train an AI?
No file upload takes place. The tool runs locally and does not use an AI model. Standard website Analytics records page visits and fixed tool-action categories, not your filenames or file content.
