Questions and limitations
Can it tell whether an image is AI-generated?
No. Metadata can be missing, copied or edited. Keyword hints are not a classifier, and the presence of a Content Credentials container is not a verified claim.
Why does a field have no readable preview?
Some containers hold binary, compressed or structured content. The checker reports the container even when it cannot decode all fields. Text previews are capped; PDF XMP is reported by presence rather than fully decoded.
Is my file uploaded or used to train an AI?
No file upload takes place. The tool runs locally and does not use an AI model. Standard website Analytics records page visits and fixed tool-action categories, not your filenames or file content.

What is AI metadata?
AI metadata is information a generator or editing workflow stores alongside image content. It can include a software name, prompt text, a workflow description or a provenance container. These fields are optional, editable and sometimes lost during export. A keyword match is a clue about the file, not proof that the image was generated by AI.
Where should I look for prompts and workflows?
Open PNG text findings to look for readable parameters or workflow text. Check XMP and software fields for other descriptions. The checker only shows information that is actually present in supported containers; it cannot reconstruct a deleted prompt or infer the original model from pixels. It does not inspect LoRA or safetensors model files.
What does the report tell me?
Removable entries: supported metadata containers identified by this engine.
Retained entries: technical information such as a color profile or necessary orientation.
Keyword hints: text matches, not an AI-origin classification.
Content Credentials: container presence, not a cryptographically verified provenance claim.
