How to use C2PA Metadata Remover

Review each file’s findings, previews and limitations. Metadata previews can contain private information.
Choose Clean scanned files. Each successful output is re-scanned before a download becomes available.
Download individual copies or a ZIP of successful results. Files with errors are excluded; keep the originals.
Questions and limitations
Are the credentials verified before removal?
No. The scan identifies supported container structures. It does not validate signatures, certificate trust or whether every JUMBF segment is a C2PA manifest.
Can credentials still be recovered or found elsewhere?
Possibly. External provenance records or durable watermark-based links may remain. Cleaning a local container does not erase remote records, remove ownership rights or prove authenticity.
Is my file uploaded or used to train an AI?
No file upload takes place. The tool runs locally and does not use an AI model. Standard website Analytics records page visits and fixed tool-action categories, not your filenames or file content.
Review supported Content Credentials or JUMBF findings. Container presence alone is not signature validation.

The cleaner removes supported JPEG APP11/JUMBF segments, PNG caBX chunks and WebP C2PA chunks. It also removes other supported image metadata; it is not a selective credentials-only editor.
Does removing C2PA remove a watermark or platform label?
No guarantee follows from cleaning the local file. Visible artwork, invisible pixel-level watermarks, external manifests and copies already published elsewhere are not removed. A platform may apply an AI label for reasons other than this file’s embedded metadata. Do not use a successful scan as proof that no provenance exists.
